Questioning Love

With so many questions
churning around
The room is alight
but making no sound

This deep empty
Loneliness I feel
Is pulling at my heart
So against it I steel

Finding the time
for a true love.
Is it all worth it?
Should I climb above?

Clenching at straws.
I hold them out, pick one.
Is it short? Is it long?
Do 1 care? is my heart gone?

In my mind's eye
I see her right there.
Her arms hold me, but her heart
is a blank stare

The one that I want
could be just round the bend
My feelings are on paper,
but no letter can I send

The questions I ask
are simple, that is true.
What do you feel for me?
Do I feel it too?

This heart of mine
Is searching in vain.
For a simple love,
to wash away my pain.

I can see how you'd feel
upon reading these lines.
But what can you do,
on the outside I seem fine.

The stars now shine through,
street lights steal their glow.
The moonlight through the glass,
makes this room look like snow.

Sitting back in this light,
questioning love without care.
My heart is so hard,
now it has a blank stare.

When you find me alone
come over, hold me.
My head will be down.
So these tears you won't see.

Keith...
